911 part # book?

What is the name of that book that has all the P-car part #'s?
You know, the one that helps you find out if you are actually looking at an S with the correct motor?
And, does anyone have a copy for sale?
Thanks,
Derek

Or are you looking for the Porsche Red Book? If so, you can buy it at most bookstores for around $12.00

By "Red Book" do you mean the Haynes manual? If so, that won't do much for you in model specific parts... not a single Porsche PN in it, but a good reference nonetheless..

No Morrie, the "Porsche 911 Red Book 1965-1999" by Patrick C. Patermie. Breaks down all the model years for production, history, color and interior option codes, all chassis and engine numbers both U.S. and ROW, among other things. The book is so damn useful that I even keep a copy in the office.

Ah, that one. That one along with the restorer's guide make for good tools. I also like the PET software as it lets me see what PNs are common between years.

Kurt is correct about the red book matching engine numbers, tranny numbers, & options with specific years & models.
If you are looking for individual part numbers then the book that you are looking for is called
" Parts and Technical Reference Catalog" it was put out by Porsche Cars North America. The catalog PN is PNA 000 147 It is no longer available through dealers The catalog that I have covers 911 Model years1974 to 1989. Sometimes you can find them on E-bay Craig

Derek are you referring to the one that has the (what appears to be) Petrol blue car on the cover? I picked mine up a few years back at Niello. Not sure if they are still available. Maybe PCNA or Stoddard might help you. Not discouting a check with our host to see if they can obtain one for you. Has been a big help to me.
