Subwoofer under passenger seat

I'm toying with the idea of building a sealed subwoofer enclosure for an 8" DVC sub. A kicker Comp VR can be used with a pretty small volume. The passenger seat with 3/4" spacers seems to haver a reasonable volume between it and the floor pan. I'm actually selling the specially made enclosure for the rear footwells that the PO put in cause my kids would like to go for rides. The amp could go up in the trunk.

Anyone tried this scheme?

Yes I did. Passengers found vibration through the seat irritating.

You may craft your own joke around that.

I take it you don't have a computer under the seat. My 82 has a computer under there.

Friend of mine has a sub on the back seat that can be pulled and put in the trunk when he needs to get his kids in. It has banana plugs that makes it easy to put in and pull out. Don't remember how it's secured but I'm sure that it is.

It may look like it is enough volume (space) but it's not. Your better off trying to make a box in sid eof the compartment in the trunk and routing a port to the insid eof the cabin.

Garage
Back when I was interested in those things I had an integrated Blaupunkt unit, sub and a 100watt amp. It fit very nicely under the drivers seat. There was another 120watt amp under the passenger seat. I t worked pretty well.
