Scratched up oil gauge, return or keep?
I bought a numbered oil gauge kit from Pelican and recieved the package about a week ago. I noticed that the gauge face has a bunch of scratches on it and the paint on the numbers and bars is also scratched up.
Should I return it and ask for a different unit? Should I quit being a lil' girl and just install it anyways? or..should I attempt to touchup the gauge face by hand with a tiny brush? ![]()

Return it. I don't think Wayne would want his products to go out like that unless it was clearly "used."

Return it. I'm not that picky, but those scratches would drive me crazy!

Wow, that's bad. I'm surprised they still use plastic. My gas gauge is glass. Man, it's so much nicer looking. I'm tempted to do the rest in glass for that very reason.
I agree. Wayne and Tom would want to know about that. BTW, for those of you who do have scratches, I removed many with polishing compound and a polishing wheel on my dremel. Just use a lot of water and don't leave the wheel in one place too long. I even got some DEEP gouges out of my clock. Still glass is better.

You'll never be able to touchup that damage easily. Wayne should be able to return to the supplier for credit. I'd send back.

no way, return it! those things would be preserved behind your "picture frame" forever.

postal service
Return it UPS or Fed EX. I returned a windscreen seal the same way they sent it to me (Postal Service) over a month ago because it was an after market seal and still have not gotten my credit. They claim they have not received same. Charlie
