Brake Diagnosis
Some of you may remember me b!tching about how bad my brakes were last fall. I couldn't get them to lock and I was ready to upgrade.
Well, I finally took my calipers off and popped the pistons out. The pistons and the bores up to the piston seals were corroded. No pitting but enough rust to make the pistons sticky (it shouldn't take much given the tight gap between piston and bore). I'm getting the calipers glass beaded prior to painting them. With my rebuild kit and Metal Master pads on the way from our host, I'm looking forward to some good brake performance by the end of the weekend. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Yes, Bill it appeared that neither of the 2 PO's of my car couldn't be bothered to change fluid when I first flushed the system 3 years ago for the first time. However, if the problem was really water in the fluid there would be rust and pitting all through the bores and there wasn't.
In my previous life of Corvette ownership caliper bore pitting was a big problem that spawned the cottage industry of pressing stainless steel sleves into calipers.
