Porsche Crest Engine Drop Pics

Thought I would share with you guys what I did this past weekend. Dropped engine for a clutch and ended up detailing it. I'm still looking for a good before photo. Enjoy!

Let me know what you think

Gorgeous engine!
What did you do with the yellow engine hoist? Lift the car off of the engine? If so, what did you attach to?

That is exactly what I used it for. I used 1/2 inch eye bolts through the old motor mounts and attatched a chain. No lift height problems here Thank you for the compliment on the engine.

Excellent choice to detail your engine while doing your clutch. Engine looks great, did you polish your fan?

When you lifted the rear of the car with the engine hoist, did the chain interfere with the engine compartment lid?

You have to play with the chain length to get it just right so you can lift with no interference. Fly: I had a sign shop make that sticker, it cost me $6.00. I just printed the size I needed and went to the sign place and picked a color, they did it while I waited.

Sweet

Keith, the engine looks great! The cherry picker is a good idea too. Want to do my car next? I have my engine out right now doing a clutch job, oil leaks, carrera valve covers, etc. I will also detail my engine. After seeing yours, I am excited about getting started. Later.
