I have 5 fuel lines.
It looks like Im missing a short piece of linkage on one throttle body. I do have the injectors. Are the chips in the stacks a problem? Can I use T parts for what I'm missing? Is this the fuel pump? Anything else I need to look for?

Looks like you are in good shape. I have a few question to get you on your way.
-How long has the MFI been off of the car? -Why was it removed? -How were the injector holes plugged, and is the pump drive sprocket still attached to the left cam shaft? - Are you going to do it yourself? You will need to remove the left heat exchanger to put the pump drive belt back on the cam. Before i started bolting things back up i would see what kind of shape the throttle bodies are in. I think this is usually the reason many MFI cars run poorly. If you hold them up to the light, you should not see any light around the throttle plate in each bore. I would also run a piece of thin wire through each injector line and spray some carb cleaner in there to rinse them out. Paul

Test the pump before you bolt it up. It is probably shot. Vertex sells rebuilt ones for like $139 with a core charge. I would replace the chipped stacks, you can actually get a nice set out of a VW catalog. Just measure the inner diameter.
The line shouldnt be hard to come by used. Looks like #4? you're missing. If nothing else you can get the linkage from Matt at Eurometrix. www.eurometrix.ws Paul

I'm not sure how long the MFI has been off. I talked to the guy who owned the car for a number of years and sold it to the person that I bought the car from.
He removed the MFI because he was having trouble keeping it in tune. He said when it was right it was great, but he was using the car as a daily driver and felt the carbs were easier to keep in tune. He said it would have good bottom end or top end, but not both. The injector holes are pluged with bolts I believe. I'll have to look. Im not sure if the sprocket is still there. Kind of hard to see back there.

The MFI pump # is 0408 126 021
The stack # is 901 110 309 OR The air cleaner has 71 911E written on it. Are these correct for a 72S?

If it was hard to keep in tune, the throttle bodies may need a rebuild. I am sure the sprocket is still there, it would be an unnecessary pain to remove it.
The plus side is that you can sell the Webers and pay for the throttle rebuild. He will rebuild, straighten, and replate all of your linkages too. If you ask, Matt may blast and paint the magnesium intakes you have to match the fresh throttle bodies. Paul

That is a 72 S pump number, the aircleaner is universal. I thought 72 and 73 had plastic stacks. It may have just been 73 though.

I'm not sure if the stacks are original. I just got some boxes with parts when I got the car. I bought the car from a pelican member who was planning on restoring it and decided on getting something a little further along.
Thanks for the help.
