Ti Hinge Joy Ride... and Pics

With today being a holiday and not having to work I decided to put on the Titanium 911R hinges that I scored from Shawn (thrown hammer). I must say that these are very nice, very light, and much less of a hassle to work underneath the deck lid. Thanks Shawn!!! So in celebration of the long weekend and the new hinges I decided to go hit the back county roads and have some fun

I took some pic's when I stopped at Laguna Lake before it got dark. And Oh ya.... I ended up almost getting attacked by some brawny looking geese.
The pictures turned out to be so so quality.

Today was a holiday?!? It seems like the only people that take today off are banks and government workers. All kidding aside, i love that paint color to death. Who did you have paint the car?

911ctS, that's a beautiful car. If possible, can you post more/bigger pictures, I'm interested in seeing that front valence with the cool rally lights. I also especially like the color-matched horn grilles and those mirrors look cool too!

This shows the front dam a bit more.

jarrett--the paint was done by a local guy named Paul who does occasional side work and is very reasonable. It was like 1500 plus i had to buy the Glasaruit paint. Its mexico blue with a small bit of blue peral under the clear.

Very nice!

With these hinges and the ducktail can you flip the lid up and rest it on the back window when working in the engine compartment, or do you have to use a prop to keep it open?

Any more pics from the same angle as the pic below that show a little more of the back of the car? Where you can see a little more of the lid, hinges, and back window?

It looks like a RUF color. Didn't they have a 993 CTR in that blue? By the way, it looks curvy enough, but is it still a narrow body?

Do you have the drawings for the hinges? I own a manufacutring facility that does a lot with titanium. If you are interested, we could produce these at a very reasonable cost.

Yes, with these hinges the deck lid rests against the rear window area. That, plus the fact that the large 'interior' hinges are deleted and out of the way, provides greatly improved access to the boiler room area.

Wow! I was waiting for someone to get them on a car! Those look awesome. Love the car. The color looks great. I pick the last few sets of Ti hinges up from the welder later today.
Stutgart46, You have a PM.

The mirrors are from an unknown source, I found them at the junk yard years back and dont remember what sort of car i took them from.

Rix 911RS-- The wheels are Fikse FM10's 17x8 and 17x7.5 I sell the Hella 911 R lights (light assemblies) and I can honestly say that TRE sells the best housings around.

Shuie-- I will post some better pics of the ducktail resting on the back window when i get home today. Very cool situation for working on the engine, lots of head room.

Harlequin-- Yep its a stock narrow body. However I worked what magic i could to pooch the rear fenders out and give it what it needed for clearance. Had to re-shape it alot with a big hammer prior to body work.

Stutgart-- Actually a fellow pelican is currently making these Ti hinges and stainless ones. This is how i got mine.
