Your efforts are outstanding. I think I shall copy you, with your permission, on a couple of my "sleds."

Looks great. Did you pull the old carpet and use it as a pattern? What material was that you used. What was your total time for the project?
Thanks

That looks better than the kit I installed. Do you have any previous interior experience? I probable should have spent more time on mine, oh well. Looks good Miggs!

isn't that just indoor/outdoor stuff you would get at Home Depot? Looks like the stuff I use to cover speaker boxes. Very cheap and MEGA light. Looks great!!! I'm thinking I will be doing the same in the new "project"...

it is a very very close look to perlon you cant really see the colour match as my camera is doing weird and wonderful things to the colour but its a dark grey which is what i wanted yes its very light

Experience erm none just decided to go for it saved me a fortune and took around 5 hours to complete

So what exactly is this stuff, and where did you get it? Do you know if it comes in any other colors, like maybe a nice black or charcoal?

thanks.

Looks great, How did you do the edging? using spray glue or did you seam the edges. I am looking to replace mine soon as well. This looks like a way to go, if they have black or dark brown.

Someone asked if you used the existing patterns or did you just do your own thing with less pcs ? - more like the molded 1 pc deals.

Come on, man, give us the details!! We love your work, and we all want to do the same, except we don't know what you did! Home Depot carpet, cut off the pattern from your old carpet, glued in place with 3M #80? Edging done just by cutting the edges as clean as possible with a big pair of scissors? How much carpet did you need, and how much did you pay? What are the pitfalls? What would you have done differently?

Excellent work -- seeing your success really excites me to the possibility that I could even do it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love the details, though.

Thanks in advance, and beautiful work,

Dan

yeah sorry guys having engine troubles

It cost me about £40($80) two rolls from my local motorfactor shop it was the only place i could get as close to perlon as i could

I didnt use my existing carpet as i just decided to go for it and it turned out ok

Edgings just cut nice and neat with big scissors

Fixing well heavy duty spray glue

A couple of people have asked me to do there carpets but need to finish the car first

hope that answers all your questions

mike

Quite a job -- I'm still impressed with how clean it looks for $80 in carpet, instead of like $800 for a professional kit. Thanks for the info. BTW, did you use any sound damping or insulation? I assume you haven't run it yet to find out if the noise or heat from the backseat is excessive? Tnx, once again.

Dan

"Isn't there a way to grow it, like grass?"

Except for the color, that's how well it appears to have been done!
