What's wrong with this picture #2
I just came back from a PCA mtg at a local shop that works on Europe's finest. Saw some scarey things. Not a P-car but, What's wrong with this motor? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1082521652.jpg
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1082521666.jpg I'm thinking someone tried one too many holeshots. |
I don't know, maybe if he zipped his fly it wouldn't dangle out there like that. Or maybe he just had to go?
Nice rod!!!!
Rusty piully !!! Do I win
Um...
It shouldn't need a kick stand.
Shawn. |
Geeze, only one martini tonight and I am giggling like a school boy at these responses :)
"Is that a piston rod in your pocket, or are you excited to see me......." -B |
Duh, it's a waterpumper, you guys all missed it with your dirty little minds LOL :)
oil pan is wimpy?
Its missing the rest of the car and maybe the belts and just about everything.
It must be that the oil dip stick is to curved to get a correct reading?
:D :D :D |
a leakdown test showed a problem with the #1 cylinder; confirmed by the test instrument's gauge.... and the flapping of the mechanics pant-leg :)
The BMW in the background does not have clear indicator lights.
It's not mounted to the correct 5-Arm Engine Mount Stand?
"Hmm Harry, there's a hole in the bucket, go fix it, Dear, fix it"
"With what shall I fix it?.... MONEY HONEY! |
Am I the only one that thinks that's awsome? !!!!! It almost makes the bill not that big of a deal if I could at least look at that every once and a while.
This couldn't happen to the flat six. There is no oil pan. The dry sump keeps the rods in.
On a junkyard visit last year I noticed a yard owned crane that you can borrow standing over a chevy truck. Hanging from it, just above the engine compartment was a small block in shiny new blue paint. And the oil pan had a rod sticking out of it just like the one above. I had to think about it for a moment but figured it out: Some poor bozos saw the fresh small block and got so excited about pulling it on 1/2 day off day that they forgot to look it over carefully. Once they saw the mess, pulling the engine up, they probably left very quickly :D George |
Serpentine belt is missing. Did I win?
extra appendage?
I had a similar electrical problem in my Datsun 510, as numer 3 piston took out my alternator :)
LOL!! You guys are too funny! Kickstand...... winner!!
Looks fine to me.
Funny place for the motor mount, though. |
Penis envy ?
Come on guys, it's supposed to be that way. What you are seeing is the new German NON-connecting rod. ;)
I’s hate toos sees any cool motor bees broke. Irregardless of these problems, somehows it’s a good kick-stand.

Another NOS fatality!
I think it sported wood after seeing a SC.

M3 motor? Nothing money won't solve.
Picture the crank-shaft stating in a slow southern drawl:
"What we have he-ar, is a failure to communicate" The obvious design intention here is that the oil pan is suppose to double as a scatter-shield for flying internal parts. IMO, the winner would be "Another NOS fatality" |
Owner: Do you think I ran over a stray con-rod in the road that put a hole in the oil pan?
Mechanic: It's nice that you are trying to remain optomistic, but now you have ventured way beyond optomism. |
