What's wrong with this picture #2

I just came back from a PCA mtg at a local shop that works on Europe's finest. Saw some scarey things. Not a P-car but, What's wrong with this motor?

I'm thinking someone tried one too many holeshots.

I don't know, maybe if he zipped his fly it wouldn't dangle out there like that. Or maybe he just had to go?

It must be that the oil dip stick is to curved to get a correct reading?

a leakdown test showed a problem with the #1 cylinder; confirmed by the test instrument's gauge.... and the flapping of the mechanics pant-leg

Am I the only one that thinks that's awsome? !!!!! It almost makes the bill not that big of a deal if I could at least look at that every once and a while.

This couldn't happen to the flat six. There is no oil pan. The dry sump keeps the rods in.

On a junkyard visit last year I noticed a yard owned crane that you can borrow standing over a chevy truck. Hanging from it, just above the engine compartment was a small block in shiny new blue paint. And the oil pan had a rod sticking out of it just like the one above. I had to think about it for a moment but figured it out: Some poor bozos saw the fresh small block and got so excited about pulling it on 1/2 day off day that they forgot to look it over carefully. Once they saw the mess, pulling the engine up, they probably left very quickly
