Sam, I'm shooting from the hip here, but I think the C-codes relate to the emissions config for the car. I seem to remember that US emissions cars are C02. Porsche options codes are Mxxx or Xxxx, I think.

Not so fast young Luke:

C02 Equipped with catalytic converter
C03 California type car
C05 Version for France
c15 996: UK package with rhd steering wheel and headlights
C16 UK LUX spec: tinted windows, metallic paint, and a few other goodies.
C23 Version for Australia
C36 Canadian type car
CPZ 996: Thicker steering wheel leather
CSV 996: Electric seat adjustment L & R
CUP Carrera Cup race car

But, there is no C22. My brother is buying an '85 Euro Cab with "Option Package C22" printed right there on the underhood sticker. Red Book doesn't have it...

Oh...C22...isn't that the reduced HP version?

Adrian Streather's book on the 964 lists C22 as the country code for Belgium, which makes sense if this is a Euro car.

Unfortunately, the book doesn't list what options the C22 build had.

C22 is, in fact, the reduced horsepower version of the Euro car. It was used in European driver's ed classes when high speeds (Over 65) were not desired. About 110 hp if I remenber correctly.

My car had an option package that I couldn't identify. After researching every source I could think of I sent e-mail to Bruce Anderson. A week later he responded with the answer. The funny part was that he was stumped too. He just called one of his sources at Porsche and they told him the answer.
