flapper open still hot

After checking that my flapper box was completly open. I still have heat on my feet.
The dash blower fan is off. The red floor levers are down.
This is at highway speeds for 15+ minutes. Is this normal??
Anyone have similar stats?

You need to make sure that the valve inside the flapper is closed, in addition to the external portion (vent looking holes) being open.

That is actually a little misleading. Part number 11 should be closed, that is blocking off the opening leading to the cabin, but part number 12 should be open, that is you can see that the little slots are open to allow the heat to dump out.

Thanks Kurt. Much easier when I know what I am looking for! Do you have a CD version of a 911. I bought a CD for my other cars, with part#'s, pic's ...like above. It has proven useful. I would love to get one for the p-car.
Trying to keep the v12 benz well sorted has been less challenging with the pics.

Steve,

Oops, number 12 needs to be open and number 11 needs to be sealed closed.

Number 12 is the part you can see looking up from under the car. Number 11 is inside the housing. It is also possible that the perimeter seal around number 11 has failed. Still another possibility is number 11 isn’t firmly attached to the shaft of number 12.

Best,
Grady
