The pads for GT3s are HUGE! pics

I just got these in yesterday and had to show 'em -

GT2 pads are unbelievably large - the well-known-to-be humgous-already Pagid yellows next to them are for BIG RED BRAKES! And they look pretty damn small......

That's where the really hot cars will get you, on consumables. And they consume them. Here are GT-2 brakes on a RUF CTR-2:

Is there anything exotic about the pad compound? Or is the cost merely for the format?

They use the same compound on different pads. A yellow RS 19 is the same compound whether for a PCCB GT3 or a 993tt or a 930

Here are the actual dimensions
GT2 & GT3 Cup

Big Red

In my opinion, the the cost comes from the sheer size as well
as the qty produced. By far, our most popular size are the 1203 Pagids which are also known as the '930 Turbo pads'. Cost also seems to rise in proportion to pad size -- price per sq cm they are about equal ;-)

The higher horsepower, the bigger the brakes...or one would hope anyway! The size is amazing...just longer than my hand! It just trips me out that a pad is made that big. Makes the pads for my car look whimpy, which are bigger than other cars out there. I wonder what those GT2 pads would be like on my SC...if i could get them to fit.
