the easy way to install rear sway bar bushing?
need an assist here...trying to install new sway bar bushings and they're squirming all over the place. i have tried pressing them in after heating them up in boiling water with no luck. i seem to be doing more damage than good by trying to press the lip in with a screwdriver. what's the trick? the trailing arm bushings was easier than these.

I heated it, held it with a pair of long ass needle nose pliers and had a lucky swing when I smacked it with a hammer. I had white lithium grease on all surfaces. I'm sure there's a more graceful way to do it.

I greased them up, then used a vise to squeeze them in.

Like Colin. I used the vise as a press.

Same as cowtown. Just make sure you got them pointed in the right direction. PITA to get back out, without destroying them. Then I used a real big C clamp to press them on the ball studs.

I used a jack to preload the sway bar and hold it into position. Then used a pry bar to force it on there. A bit of a PITA but not too bad. Just need to get creative with finding a way to force it on.

Sitting in hot water and some soap as a lubricant did the trick for me--that and a lot of pressing. But drill a tiny hole in the back of the bushing. That let's the air escape that's being compressed during installation to the swing arm ball, and makes it much easier to install the link to the suspension.
