Head Job...
I thought that'd get ur attention
![]() Anyway, my baby is going in for a rebuild soon and I'd like some recommendations wrt head work. I'm intending to get the heads twin plugged so I can run a 964 dizzy and a Crane HI-6 ignition system. Also having GT2 EVO CAMs installed, Titanium Retainers, AlSiBr Valve Guides, Turbo Racing Valve Springs and depending on the condition of my existing valves, probably get some stainless ones made up. Is there anything else I should do to the heads whilst this work is being done? Thinking of longevity/reliability and of course performance ![]() What about Extrude Honing for even airflow across all runners? Port'n'polishing? Oh, I'm also having 930 P&C's installed with ARP fasteners and 964 piston squirters.

LOL @ Ryan
![]() Thanks Juan. Will have a browse and see what I can find out ![]() Oh Juan, what boost are you running on your monster setup? 1.4bar? Are you running racing fuel or something? What boost do you run on normal street/pump fuel?

Are you running racing fuel or something?
93 must of the time, racing 1/2 of 93 1/2 of 116c What boost do you run on normal street/pump fuel? Since we start running 500hp+ we have always been set at 1.3 and 93, we will go to 93 and 1/2 110 and 1.5 bar ![]()

Merv, not really..........
Problem is they have everyone fool about the boost on this cars, you know how many times I have heard people said that if you go over 1 bar the thing will blow up ? ![]() this is just another example of how misleading the porsche community is, you must remember that Bellos was running 30 psi! we have run all the way to 1.6 bar and I have a friend that anything under 1.9 bar is unaceptable, never mind what the imports are running this days......

Hi Juan. I meant it's serious boost for an air/oil cooled engine. I can understand that the Jap cars are running extremely high boost, but don't forget they are water-cooled and therefore are more efficient at extracting the heat away from the cylinders & heads etc...
Having said that, if you have the fuel & ignition maps all sorted properly with a solidly built engine platform, I don't see any reason why you can't run 1.6bar! Are you twin plugged, or still single plug? That will also allow you to run more boost due to the better, more even burn ![]()

Merv, couldn't help noticing the WYDRYD on the hoist at WM. I take it you will be terrorising the WRX/VN Commo kiddies on the arterial again soon?
