In Atlanta May 7-12
I'll be at a conference in Atlanta May 7-12, any recommendations of thinks to do or see? Also, any local Pelican Heads want to get together for a beer on Monday or Tuesday evening? I'll be staying at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta.

I believe there's a Peachstate PCA tech session at the BBS Wheel facility next to Road Atlanta on the 8th. Have a look at www.peachstatepca.org for info. Here's a copy/paste:
8th - Peachstate Tech Session: 10:30AM join us at the fantastic BBS headquarters in Braselton, GA (next to Road Atlanta) for what will be a memorable TECH SESSION conducted by Craig Donnelly, BBS Director of Product Development. Get to hear how some of the world’s finest wheels are made and learn about the new one piece forged super light weight magnesium wheels. Mops will be provided should there be excessive drooling and everyone will be required to pass through a metal detector prior to leaving. There will be a door prize plus coffee and. Please contact Kathy Patton regarding attendance so she can plan for refreshments. Kathy can be reached at: (770) 977-8923 or ptspecialties@bellsouth.net

The other guys covered most of the automotive related stuff, so............
Since your hotel is walking distance from "the place to be" Tuesday evenings in Atlanta; may I suggest Tuesday happy hour at Blue Pointe in Buckhead. Get there around 6:00 and have a great dinner (not cheap, but it is good), then stay for the eye candy (what I said). I look for any excuse to have a drink there on Tuesdays. Let me know if you have time any day, I work just around the corner. Looking for something a little more laid back? Try Fados, the Steamhouse Lounge, or Mike and Angelos (3 of my old time favorites). Also walking distance but opposite direction. Basically your in the middle of Buckhead, one of Atlanta's main entertainment districts. Any kind of great restuarant (or trouble) that interests you, can be found. Since you will be there through the weekend you will have the opportunity to see the nightlife at its frenetic finest. Don't fall for the "Atlanta Underground" tourist trap thing. Try this for other event & happenings too.
