Scituate Swap Meet Saturday May 8th, 10 AM Directions

Hi, Please reconfirm on this post that you are coming. Last count I had about 25 cars but that was a week or so ago. I would hate to have somebody drive all the way down and exoect more cars. Also, I will be posting on a bunch of boards but probably for the best idea of the number of cars coming, check the 911 board on Pelican and Rennlist. That is where I seemed to have gotten the most response in the past.

See directions below.

Thanks,

David

Directions to Peggotty Beach in Scituate, Ma for May 8th 10:00 swap/gathering.

I basically took the directions off of Mapquest and modified so don’t be alarmed by missing steps. Also, please not that if you are coming from the Cape, same exit as step 8 but go right off exit (skip step 9 and proceed to step 10).

At Braintree Split where Route 3 South and 93/128 heads towards Cape Cod which is step 7:.

7: Take MA-3 S. 8.4 miles Map

8: Take the RT-53 N exit- exit number 13- toward RT-123/NORWELL/HINGHAM.

9: Turn LEFT onto MA-53/WASHINGTON ST.

(on MA-53 you’ll pass a Joe’s Bar and Grill on the right.)

10: Turn RIGHT onto WEBSTER ST/MA-123. Continue to follow MA-123. State Police Barrack on 123 and Norwell Police can be a bit tough so keep it slow through Norwell.

Stay straight on 123 until you get to 3A. Go straight across at lights and then bear right (50 yards) and then at Stop sign ( 20 yards) go straight across onto the Driftway. Continue on Driftway and will see a Dunkin Donut on right within a minute.

Stay straight on Driftway a couple miles until stop sign (Beginning of Harbor area – St. Mary’s will be on your left)

Take right at Stop Sign onto Edward Foster Rd. (now heading toward ocean)

¼ mile take right onto Peggotty Beach Road

Take first right and enter Peggotty Beach Parking Lot.

Oh, if you get lost do not ask for the harbor. Ask for the Habaa.

See you there.

I'm coming! It might be helpful to post the complete directions so everyone can just print them out.

Hi Chris, the complete directions take you for the long ride through Scituate probably adding 5 to 10 mins and are very confusing. Some people might not even be coming from North (Boston/ Dedham) or South (Cape) so that adds a whole new twist in the directions. Try mapquest.com and plug in Peggotty Beach, Scituate MA 02066 for destination. If that doesn't help, give me a call. I think you have my number, if not email me. I think for you, just take 93 south through Boston, continue straight until Braintree split, 93 splits stay left toward the Cape (Rt 3 south) and then follow my directions starting at step 7.

Hope this helps.

David

OK, that makes sense. I've been out in the sun too long I guess.

Chris, just remember not to get off the highway until you are on RT 3 after the Braintree split. Exit 13 around Boston might call for you to get off, just say no. Not this time, I am waiting until after the Braintree split.

I'll be there for at least a couple of hours. I have a commitment in the afternoon, but I'm trying to reschedule it.

Boy I wish I could make it, but Friday I'll be instructing and Saturday I'll be racing at Lime Rock. I really want to see the }{arlequin (daves) 911 color in person. Bummer!

Have fun.

Hi,
This is not good. I expected (I am married and know well the "Your doing what on Saturday") some heads to drop off but it appears worse than I expected though we are still looking at 15 - 20 (from 20 -25) I would guesstimate. Maybe it is the suggestion of the swap. If you do not have parts not a problem, it is just a nice plus but not needed. I only have a few parts to spare myself.

Well, keeping positive; got some responses from some 914 guys and a Cayenne guy which is great. It is great to have variety.

Thanks again to all those who have responded, and those who haven't I completely understand also.

I'm unfortunately going from a yes to a maybe... my car is getting its cage installed, and I won't have it back.

I still think I'll come down and meet people, and I can certainly fit more parts I don't need into the back of my Dakota than my 911, though.

So thats a definite no for one car, and a "want to but not sure" for the overall headcount.

We are doing better. Anymore? I believe we have a pretty good variety showing.

Thanks to all that have responded.
