My Compomotives have the Compomotive name cast in them (backside of the centers) and the "Made in England" lettering as well. So probably not Compos?
I'd like to know who made these because it's really bothering me. Seems strange that there wouldn't be a manufacturer's marking on them.

Yes I should have been more clear. None of us Gruppe B'ers know who made the wheels and there are no manufacturer markings on them.

This is really bugging you huh Kurt?
![]() The wheels are 16X8's and 9's. They are pretty light and the only markings on the wheels are the width. They have smooth center caps that cover the lugnuts and are held in place by five small bolts with what appear to be aircraft style heads? they are like eight point reverse allen heads? I'll get pics of the centers and bolts today at lunch. EDIT: They are standard SC offset and Porsche bolt hole pattern.

OK, you've got me here in my office opening up a couple of older mags that I have stashed away in my credenza.
I found one very, very similar wheel made by American Racing

The "blades" seem to be shaped different. But defenitely close. Mine are two piece and the bolts holding everything together are the same aircraft style 8 point negative allen head type bolts that are used to secure the wheels centers. I know American Racing had some Porsche wheels for awhile.

I'm sure I can find it in one of the magazines at home.
Do you not know who makes them?

they almost look like big 5 blade fans sitting in the wheel wells instead of in the engine fan shroud.

Here is a pic with the wheel cover on. Also the fasteners are 12 point.

are there many non-porsche-intended wheels that would fit? or.... are there any other cars that share porsche's spacing/offset?

Offsets may be the same on another car but I believe Porsche's bolt hole circle is unique to Porsche.

ATS (German) ... made a couple of 'oddball' wheels for 911s in the '80s ... one of them looked like a Ferrari wheel, and the other looked like their 914 wheel drilled for the 911 pattern instead of the VW four-bolt pattern. That inset/recessed circle pattern was a shared design characteristic of both. Maybe they made a few other patterns that didn't make it into the Automotion or Electrodyne catalogs ...
