Need pics of drivers side fender oil cooler

I'm moving along nicely with the 3.6 conversion. I tackled the exhaust issue and despite the great advice on this board I conquered the issue with a large check for a unit from kenny Mcneil at AWE.

Now for the oil cooling. I already have a fender mounted cooler on the passengers side so I'd like to add another on the drivers side. Does anyone have pics or a description of how you went about this set up. I'm broke so no more check book mechanic.

Thanks

Jeff C

The biggest issue you will run into is clearance, the battery box takes up some space on this side. Make sure you buy a cooler narrow enough to compensate for this.

I also mounted mine upside down on the drivers side to make running the lines easier.

Sorry, no pics but the rest of the install is similar to the passenger side.

I still have this cooler and one of my Kustom brackets (the other one is still welded to the car)

Ryan has a nice write-up of this in a thread. Thom has it documented on his site, too.

My driver's side cooler is upside-down.

FYI, in case anyone out there is interested who has expressed doubts about the temperature ratings of 12 Volt computer fans of the 6.5" variety that I have recommended ...

On this past Saturday I began a long-term reliability test of four Nidec Beta V TA600DC thermostatically-controlled [internal control, two speeds, 235 cfm rating at 'high' speed] fans to replace one of the radiator fans on my wife's '94 Nissan that had not been funtional for at least a year or so ... this will be a bit more rigorous test than front fender oil coolers on a 911, since the radiator runs more or less around 195°F anytime ambient temps are above 35°F or so ...

http://www.nidec.com/ta600dc38/ta600dc38.htm

The temps underhood are at least 20°C higher than the rated specs, so I think this will shorten the fan bearing life a bit ... but at least I got the whole set for $20 on eBay, instead of the distributor price of $72 per fan!

I will let you know when any problems occur in 'testing!'

Good stuff Warren, thanks! I think I'll be adding a $20 fan to my drivers side cooler. I don't recall the guage wire used for the passenger side fan, it would be nice to run the drivers side off of the same relay.

Regarding the fuel expansion tank I eliminated it. Looped the hose around and zip tied it at the highest point in the fender well, no problem for over a year now.

I also got rid of the windshield washer tank, planned on putting it under the hood but have not gotten around to it. In the winter I drive around with a squirt bottle of fluid / water in the cabin.

Sounds good I can still afford zip ties!

Anyone see any reason the expansion tank can't be eliminated?

I will probably relocate the washer bottle under the hood ( A different bottle)
