CD Player - stereo overhaul

I'm looking to install new CD player in my 911
and have narrowed it down to:

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=11298

or

any other ideas? i prefer the subtle classy look without any "flash".
lets see some pics...

Go for the Nak. Had a great setup that was missing one morning when I found my passenger window on the seat, the Alpine unit that replaced it has developed noise in the CD section over the years.

I have had 6-7 Alpine units through the years, and never had one fail. Go with a middle priced option rather than a cheepie. I have tried others, and gave them away.
My 87 now has a top of the line Alpine 3mos old..... sounds perfect!

If you like Blaupunkt there's a great sale on the Heidelberg CD51 at:

6-7 ? Sounds like you replace them before they can develop problems, or is that spread across half a dozen cars like me . Not that I won't still consider Alpine but ALL 3 of mine have grown some kind of trouble, everything else was early Concord (before they sold out), Sony and Nak.

The biggest problem is finding what you want without getting stuck with a video game in the dash!

The link appears to be dead, but if you can find a CD51 Heidelberg, GRAB IT! They're great units, and no "bling, bling." I'm VERY happy with mine.

I just put a Blaupunkt in the other night - I had a post here but it was not that popular.

Nakamichi has a new CD-400 that would look great in a 911. Very clean design and it has the orange back lighting to match.

It appears Sound City no longer have the Heidelberg CD51 not surprising since the price was fantastic ($125) but as of this writing it's available at onlinecarstereo.com for $199.

My Eclipse unit looks nice and simple and it seems to work quite well with MB Quarts and a nice amp.

I think I paid $205 for mine from a dealer on eBay over a year ago. $125 would have been a great price. $199 seems a bit pricey for a unit that's been discontinued.

A. It's not full color, so it doesn't "jump out" at you. It's very subtle.

B. You can turn the equalizer display off (the equalizer still works, however) so the display is very clean and uncluttered.
