H4's are a single bulb light while H1's are a dual bulb. I'm pretty sure that the second bulb is for DRL.

Here is a shot of the fronts. Are there 4 adjustment screws? May be H-1s.

Definitely Bosch H1s, but in fairly rough shape ... based on the pitting of the trim rings!

No DRLs in the '68-vintage design ... just individually-adjustable high and low beam bulbs! Fully capable of running 130 Watt bulbs in both beams, too!

Sweet, I love the experts around here. Actually I think I was way off base, don't the Euro H4's have DRL's, not the H1's.

Low & High beam bulbs are separate on H1's -- that's the "second" bulb.

Some H4's do have "city" bulbs -- not DRLs.
