Newbie - What size wheels do I have? Tires?

I just bought an '87 Targa. I believe it to have the factory wheels on it. The tires sizes are P205/55 R16 on the front and P225/50 R16 on rear.

What size wheels are these?

What are my options for tire sizes?

Where can I educate myself on this stuff?

What are recommendations for tires? (touring and autocross in New Mexico)

You have 16 inch rims and those are the standard sizes. Others can chime in on your options, but I believe with standard rims, most people stick with those sizes. Do a search on tires and you'll find tons of info. Search is at the bottom right of the main 911 BBS screen
