Define rebuild???

Simple tear down and replace gaskets?

Or are the throttle shafts in need of work?

Mike Z .....

What should I look for in the shafts?
How can I tell what work they require

Experienced overall smoother and more responsive acceleration. Carburetor popping and exhaust backfire improved as well, HOWEVER
most of thus was probaly due to an exhaust leak found when the rebuilt carbs were tuned.

If you are the cautious type we may want to do your other work and then get a good tune-up w/carb balance. If not good enough go with the carb rebuild.
