Thanks,
Ken

What's going on Apex Perf. has them for $126, Pelican $159, and Magnecore sent me an email stating they were $205? The Apex and Magnecore part #'s are the same, I could not get the part # from the Pelican site. Does Pelican price match?

I bet Wayne would price match. When I was shopping for mine, I noticed that the Magnecore site had a higher list price than all the small parts houses..so I got mine for Dr. Instant-G (Steve Timmins). Worked out great and Dr. Steve was very accomodating.

No one has these right now, so they might as well be listed for $5 on joe blow's site. I think that you will find that the real price is not the website price if you call. You will also be hard-pressed to find these in stock.

Basically, Magnecor can't seem to find a reliable supplier for the wire ends that are semi-specific to the 911. As such, we have only seen them trickle in over the past few months. Not much we can do if Magnecor can't make them...

actually, the backorder a few months ago was just what i needed. i took the time to learn wtf was going on with my stock berus and fixed them with the help from a friend. i learned alot testing and replacing parts. my car is running kickA with a frankenstein set of factory wires from various cars. a few new connectors too. i go back and forth on whether or not i like the red wires or not. it is a waiting game for you now ken, i bet the country is out of them.

Cool Magnacor status.....

I too am interested in a set of the Magnacor wires for my SC. I emailed the Magnacor factory this morning and asked when they would be able to ship Porsche wire sets. The reply that I got back (in a timely manner) was that they would/should be shipping again next week. So if you really want a set of these wires, get your orders in now.

By the way, isn't this BB worth the extra $25 that PelicanParts charges for this item?

When you get the sales rep whom I won't mention by name (John)........it is not worth the $25

I must have gotten the last one set in the country because it shipped in a week over X-mas. And it was barely ... $110.

Let me confirm for everyone - Wayne is correct - I talked to the folks at Magnacore yesterday and thye confirmed their backorder problem - one part is hard to get as Wayne mentioned. Magnacore will fill their backorders first and then fill new orders. Prices stated above are right. Pelican is $159, Magnacore direct is $205 and Apex is the cheapest.

There are none left in the USA that I can find. It's a bumber when you've got the old wires pulled out and new plugs, distributora cap, etc. ready to go in....

yelcab1 - where did you get yours for $110???

Just an FYI. If I were doing it again (I built my own wire set a couple years ago), I'd buy (from Pelican) a set for the earlier cars (IIRC '65-'73 non-CIS). I have it on good authority they'll fit and work fine.

Info from the order desk:

There has been a significant increase in the prices of Magnecor wires. The 911 wire sets we sell have had their prices adjusted in our catalog (should update tonight). The other wire sets will be adjusted when we receive notice of our new cost. Any sets that are now on backorder will be at the old price, so any customer that has been waiting for a set will get them at the price they were ordered at. Any wire sets ordered from now on will be sold at the new price.

We are supposed to get our 65-83 911 sets in on Friday or Monday. The other sets should be a soon after that.

Linda from Apex sent me an e-mail saying that all Magnecor wires will be shipped this week.

I actually received mine from Apex on Wednesday. Sorry Wayne, I had the order with you and your guys said 2-3 weeks - I did buy all my other tune up parts. I guess I was good for the "old" price - $140 + shipping.
