Question for Aussie Pelicans

Hi everyone,

What would be a reasonable expectation for the price of a set of genuine 7x16 and 9x16 Fuchs in good condition here in Australia?

I guess at the end of the day, its what you're willing to pay, but would like your feedback.

I would think in the range of AU$2500-3000

They're not cheap. The PCNSW website usually has a set of 16"s for sale most of the time. Don't know about 9" rears, though.

Merv (WYDRYD) has a very nice set. Try PM'ing him.

I know for a fact that new 16x8's cost about $2K a set. So used 9's should be about the same although they are hard to find so be prepared to bargain.

Thanks guys.

He's asking $3,200 which includes genuine lock nuts and some pretty ordinary Falken tyres which would only just be legal. The wheels are about 90-95% condition and still have the original anodised finish. Have made an offer well below this figure, but am sure he will not accept.

They would look great on my car though...I'm sure I'll kick myself down the track for not offering more. Will start looking for some 8's now. Anybody got a set they don't want??

Sheldon, Melbourne PP member "staurtj" has a set for sale. I can personally vouch that they are as new. (I think they are less than 3 yo originals from the Fatherland).

See here:

AUS guys- advice please

OZCarrera3, I have an original set of 7x9x16" 930 FUCHs (off my Turbo-body Cabriolet) which I'm looking at selling. You can have them for AUD$2k

Tyres have approx 60% tread though.

PM me if interested

Victor,

I've sent an e-mail to Stewart to check the availability of his 8's. Thanks for the lead, much appreciated. While not quite as sexy as 9's, these look just as good and I can use my existing tyres which are only 6k old. Would need a full set of new tyres for the 9's as my P6000's don't come in 245/45 x 16.

However will also check out Merv's 9's which seem a very good deal at $2k.

Thanks again guys

Hi all,

Have been successful in purchasing some 8x16's from StuartJ (many thanks to Victor). Will post some pics when I have them fitted, but first I will need to get my 7's refinished (re-anodised) to match the 8's.

Cheers and thanks again!

Hey hey! Good to see this BBS get used for good instead of evil. Make sure Stuart's rims are the correct width as I have heard he thinks 5cm is 8 inches.

I don't know if this helps, but I recently sold my 9 x 11 x 15" Fuchs for $9,000.

Matt, you're a Real Estate agent right?

Just kidding, well done, that puts the 9's into perspective.

yes the SO refers to that problem as "Porsche inches".

Those rims will fill your arches nicely Sheldon. Post that pic of car here. What a neat unit.

I think I have nearly sold purple PIG911. A certain Richmond workshop owner gave the car a big rap to the prospect purchaser. We shall see if the buyer now comes up with the readies....
