Just guessing, but I'd bet it's probably a rear shock, sway bar, T-bar, or trailing-arm bushing(s). You should probably expect more flex and noise from a cab though too.

Do you hear it with both the top up and down? I would bet it's the suspension as well - check the shock top and bottom.

the top made squeaky noise either up or down position.
I have my kid seat in the rear seat and she sure the noise was from there. Thanks TC_SJ |

Check for cracked or broken sway bar mounting tabs. Very common on these cars.

Could you please point to the exact location, I have the Bentley manual, but does not cover the cab portion. Thanks Tan

Sure Tan. Look under the car just forward of the rear tires. You will see where the sway bar attaches to the chassis just rearward and inboard of the rear jacking point. The sway bar runs laterally across the rear of the car and connects the bananna arms together via a drop link. The mounting points seem to fail on these cars due to the fact that the cars got heavier over the years (more stress) without a proportional increase in the strength of the mounts. Seems like it's the pass. side that to fails more often. You may an assistant help you rock the car or simply jack the car up to see a crack( it may appear normal at rest). Sorry if I oversimplified the description- we have everything from pros to novices on this board. I'm not a pro- I have simply learned from my experiences. Best of luck. Ray
