Removing pinstriping?
Not on the P-car, on the daily driver.
I can pull it off about a millimeter at a time, which is fun, but then it leaves behind a residue that goof-off doesn't budge. I've seen some type of rotary tool that was featured in Excellence over a year ago that was used to remove stoneguard? Any ideas?

stripe removal
HI,
Yes there is a special tool for removing any stripes or stickers, it's like a great big eraser that mounts in a grinder. I've never used one myself, but have seen the guys at the body shop use them, it's the darndest thing, it just erases them away! BUT, what I would suggest is to use a heat gun or hair dryer. By gently heating the stripe, you will be able to pull it right off. If you get the right amount of heat, the adhesive will come right with the stripe. If your too cool, the adhiesive will be left ont he car. Good Luck! |

pin striping removal tool
I purchased from a NAPA store a eraser pad, this is what you saw in Excellence magazine,it is a rubbery type material in the shape of a sanding disc but thicker,I used it to remove the clear vinyl stoneguards that I had on a 944S,it comes with a mandrel that you can chuck into a drill,it works great!!It is used to remove pin striping, stoneguards, molding adhesive etc.
