Eric how do you 'chop' the car orange and still keep the reflection in the passenger door.
My chop program would just repaint it orange and I'd lose the reflection.
Great job you humble bustard.

Ha thanks Ryan & Rob.

It might be your chopping program. I'm using photochop 7. You can go under the hue/saturation tab, then choose which color channels to alter (reds, yellows, greens, all/master, etc).
Or if the car is white, you can use the "magic wand" tool and select the car areas (takes a few tries to get all the areas, and you may have to play with the tolerance value). It works better if you zoom in a bit too. Then you find a color you like with the dropper and use the fill option. Under the fill tab, you can select the fill mode (color, overlay, standard, etc.) and opacity. I chose color mode @ 100% opacity and filled away! Then you can play with the brightness, contrast, and sharpness filters afterwards. Only takes a minute or two once you get the hang of it.
That said, I am still a rank amatuer. There are a couple guys on here who are magicians with Photo-chop.

Cheers.

Thanks for your help so far. All the other colors sound great ...yellow would have been my first choice but I painted my last 930 Fly yellow. So far I still think it's going to be orange. Does anyone have the color codes for the different oranges?

Jim Richards 05-12-2004 03:47 AM

Steve, you should paint it Fishcop Blue

steve930t 05-12-2004 05:07 AM

What is Fishcop Blue?

Although we call if Fishcop blue after the Pelican member who owns one of this color, I think its official name is Arrow Blue, a mid-70's 911 color.

Flat NATO green.

fcasarra 05-12-2004 07:27 AM

What about Peral White?

fcasarra 05-12-2004 07:27 AM

Woops! I meant Pearl White!

black or platinum

rpiper 05-12-2004 09:04 AM

Hey Sarah, saw your car at FlatSix a couple of days ago: it's a good argument for black! I'm still partial to orange though....

Amac 05-12-2004 09:38 AM

I assume you have a black int.
"Bad on Bad" AKA (black on black)
has always been the most desirable
930 color.
Silver would be my next choice!
Orange seems like a race car color
to me, but I'm cool with it!!

Sarah 05-12-2004 10:25 AM

Hi Bob,

Yes our 930 was there. We visited it last weekend and it sounded great . :) I can't wait to get back behind the wheel.

"bad on bad'...funny...I like that. :)

RickM 05-12-2004 10:30 AM

Brokade Red....I know you said no red but........

steve930t 05-12-2004 11:39 AM

Bad on bad, I like that. My Carrera is blk/blk...keeping one black car clean is enough for me. I do like red but I've already owned 2 red 930's and a red Carrera. That Fishcop blue is really nice, I'm going to think about that but I'm still thinking orange.
