89 carerra front wheel bearings

The front bearings for the 89 Carerra are different from earlier ones. They do not seem to have a separate race to remove and install. Is this correct? I did not see a tech article on this type.

Have done the other style before (on a 73 E). Want to do them on my 89 now and need to know the procedure before I start.

Thanks,

Chris

I'm not aware of any changes in the front wheel bearing configuration. I think they should assemble with inner and outer races in the onboard and outboard locations, the same as your 73 did.

The picture does not have separate races at all. Just two bearings.

The picture shows the old style bearings-very generic with separate races.
But if yours are different I'm guessing you have a 964 chassis?
Thats a different ballgame. Sealed double row ball.

The picture shows what Pelican and other sites says my car needs. Very different then anything I have seen and in all the videos. Cant find anything on installing these.

I dont want to get it apart and have the wrong parts or damage the bearing by installing them incorrectly.

Chris. Each bearing you are showing in your picture is two pieces. It may not look it but will be obvious once you get them. See below.
