Carerra 3.0 Engine
I have a 1980 SC Euro, but for some reason it has the 930/02 engine in it. I don't know why, but the car runs well and the deal was such that I didn't care. My questions is this, do I have a better engine (provided the engine is in good shape of course) with the Carerra 3.0 or is the SC engine better? Which would any of you rather have?

Its arguable which engine is "better", but I think it is cool having the 3.0 liter Carrera engine. I'd wager the 3.0 liter Carrera engine is more valuable...

The C3 was a great engine for it's time, but so are some of the later SCs. Main fault of a C3 is the higher maintainance point type ignition.

Depends on how you look at it. The C3 had a different case than the SC. It won't take a 74.4mm crank like an SC will but it does take a 2.0-2.7 crank. Which means you can make a rock solid 2.8L motor(a 66x95mm motor is pretty rare). On the other an SC motor can be built up to 3.5L or larger. If the motor runs well this probably doesn't mean much to you. I do belive the C3 had a little more HP than the early SC's as well. Talk to Noah P. He knows all the ins and outs of a SC vs. a C3.

I have spoken to him, you are correct...the SC had 180 BHP and the C3 has 200 BHP....
