Question MFI Exhaust pipe setup

Hi, I am putting back my 71S with MFI together. I'm trying to figure out how all the air pipes get connected to the LH heat exchanger and up to the MFI pump. Does anybody have any good descriptions or better still pictures of where all the pipes go ?? Thanks very much.

There is a big, fat hose that sorta lays on the HE and connects to the outlet. On the other end, a smaller hose rises up thru the engine tin to the pump itself for the thermostat. It's the only air hose that has anything to do with the MFI on mine. There is also a hose from over under the oil filter to the snorkel tip for warm air idle. I've never seen one hooked up. '72-73 had another device for the induction air. I don't know about that.

Thanks for the help !

Just for clarification, it's the Heat exchanger with the additional metal enclosure around the place where the 3 pipes go into one. There is an additional inlet and outlet (One has a mesh over it) which I am not sure about....

Outlet you're refering is found on the 72 and 73 MFI cars. It supplies warm air to the engine during cold starts. Hose should run from this outlet, thru the engine tin and finally connect to the
regulator housing.

Correct. '71 car won't use this. The factory issued a bulletin way back when regarding the 72-73 heat to the intake setup (through the extra heat exchanger on the rear of the heater box that fed a theromstatic flapper box attached to the intake air box) suggesting it be removed due to the possibility of debris being sucked through the system. Roger Grago confirmed this rumour but couldn't lay his hands on the factory bulletin.
So, the 69, 70 and 71 cars are without something that proved to be a potential problem anyway. Your life just made easier.
