Question SC electrical start problem

My car died after i turned the headlight on and now it does not show any signs of wanting to start.

I cant see any fuses that are burned and the fuel pump does not start, no click or anything. The battery is good and some electrical stuff works ( clock, interior lights ). I tried to switch the fuel relay with the ac with no change.

Ideas are more than welcome.

Cool No Start.....

Check the fuel pump relay fuse to see if the spring loaded ends that hold it in place are corroded or have over heated and lost their tension. Actually, while you're at it, check all the fuses for the same problem. The fuel pump relay fuse tends to get hot which causes the small ends on the original "stick" fuses to oxidize which in turn creates resistance which in turn causes more heat, which...... anyway, you get the picture. Another resistance/heat source can be corrosion on the ends of the wires where they connect under the screws on the fuse blocks. If they are badly oxidized, remove them one at a time and clean them off using a small wire brush and some spray electrical contact cleaner. A small round bore brush (one for a .22 caliber pistol or rifle works well) can be used to clean the inside of the brass connector on the fuse block.

Good Luck!

Three things come to mind:

1. The ground strap connections between body & transmission.
2. The battery post connections.
3. [perhaps most likely] the ingintion switch.
