Aubergine is more purple. Maroon has alot of brown in it. They are very different in person, but both are hard to photograph accurately.

There are a few around. I think Jim Richard's E is aubergine. I like the color alot, although my first choice is still signal orange.

Here's a shot of my '72. A PO painted it a custom mix of a mercedes burgundy and black. So it sometimes looks burgundy, sometimes brown. This is probably darker than what you're looking for.

Thanks Todd. Here's a pic of Aubergine on a cloudy Spring day. It looks different in different lighting conditions.

This is original paint 1968 Burgandy.

This one is Lagune Seca '72 Parade in the corkscrew.

This one is Seattle parade, '75?

The 911 is still original paint but noticably darker on the outside than in the door jams.

Best,
Grady

The burgundy looks dark brown under florescents and in dim lighting, but has a pinkish tint in direct mid-day sun.

I thought you were going for silver with red interior..

Aubergine with a red interior sounds interesting....

Jim,
Are you thinking of changing the Aubergine?

Here's a burgundy'ish color
