Installing Targa rear window, it CAN be done..
Well, it took almost 3 hours last night, and 3 people to put it in place but its there.
Sore hands because of all the banging and pushing. The key to installation was correct hooks and such, oh yea, there is even a tool how you can put the rope in the groove. I was asking around a suitable rope from our garage, but nobody had such, but after an hour this dude next door came by with this rope that he called "tar-rope". This kinda rope wont slip. He had couple wooden sticks and he just put the rope in, took like 2 minutes. Well, he said he had been doing that job for like 2 years. We lifted the window in place and started putting in the gasket, started from the bottom/rear. I said that it needs a lot of pressure, and it sure did. Corners were the b1tchiest places and of course the aluminium trim popped out from the groove also. This we got back afterwards with help of a rubber hammer...well, with the wooden end of it, just press hard until you hear a slight snap, centimeter by centimeter. So it can be put in after the glass is in place. Did i mention, use lots of lubricant everywhere, soap to be exact. I think it would have been easier to use the method where you anchor the window/car to the ground, but we did not use that method. Phew...here it is ![]() ![]()
