I'll take that Momo Steering wheel of your hands for a small nominal fee. Mine is 19 years old and shows it. Yours looks like new (maybe an upclos epicture would sell me on it. What do you think? |

BigRubberJeep, I'll take some better pictures tomorrow. I have a friend that lives in Huntington Beach. I visit him often and could save some shipping for you. I was thinking about putting it on ebay, but would rather see a fellow pelicanhead get some use out of it. |

John, Nice interior! When I first looked at the pics I thought that you were installing the Momo, and I was just going to bite my tongue because I like that stock wheel better. :D I put a Momo on my car for about 10 minutes once, they are beautiful but I couldn't stand it. Blocked the guages, car control was wierd, hit my thighs, etc.... That factory wheel is the best one, and in mint condition like that I think that they are beautiful. The way that your thumbs rest on the top spokes, the "dished" shape of the rim, horn pad that you will never miss, (try honking that Momo in a panic situation), nice going! |

Thanks Denis! SmileWavy At first, I simply wanted to return the interior to stock condition. But after I drove the car with the new wheel, I suddenly realized why Porsche designed the wheel the way they did--everything just fits! I bought the wheel from a fellow pelicanhead. I paid a premium (but fair) price for the wheel. The seller said he pulled it off his 930 when it had only 20k on the ticker. In my book, that's a new wheel.:) |

After plenty of initial confusion ("which wheel is which") I came to the realisation that ...all is well and, yes, that "ugly" four spoke wheel is both the original as well as the "new" one. OK. I still have the original 4-spoke Carrera wheel on my car, and it's needing some needlework with thread come loose, and I was considering changing it for a momo wheel. But, after driving it 2700 miles a few weeks ago, I also came to the realisation that the original wheel is "perfect". Not the looks (which is very disputable), but the feel is great. I join those previous posters who laud the fact that the original wheel does not hide instruments and, yes, the "dished" wheel-rim is perfect for long drives: when "loafing" around on autobahns at lower speeds (120-140 kph), thumb and index can perfectly fit 10-2 positions to point the car straight ahead, a relaxing excercise. I think it's also the very size of the wheel that makes it good, I fear a smaller wheel may be not so good at low manoeuvering speeds (I find the Carrera to be a bit heavy handling at slow speed). I also almost always wear soft leather italian gloves when driving the car. Yes, I've read previous "sissy" or "show-off" comments, but I find the leather (glove)-on-leather (wheel) feel VERY reassuring: no-slip and high-contact (note: my hands are in fact quite "feeble", I quite easily blue-bruise finger-joints, even if only bumping a steering wheel, so the gloves confer welcome comfort (and safety). I think I'll save myself some money and keep the old Carrera 4-spoke...in spite of the sedate looks. |

Still have my original wheel but I really like the 930S. Fatter rim, little smaller, still see the gauges and it is a "Porsche" part. |

I recently installed the 930S, it is a nice wheel and I am learning to love it, but I still miss the Momo. Regardless, I personally would still take the 930S "factory" wheel over the three or four spoke "factory" wheel if I had to choose between the two. To each his own, I say. If you like the wheel in your car, then that is the best wheel for you. You are the one that drives the car, so the opinions of others shouldn't influence your opinion. I still say JRISERs interior looks great either way. |

Well, I have what I think is the smaller 930 wheel. It's brand new from the PO and yes, it blocks the guages. It also lets you feel the steering sometimes more than I would like. I'm getting older (not an excuse) and I'm seriously thinking about putting a stock wheel on the car. I like the Porsche 4 spoke, much as I liked the wheel on my 70 T. Anyone got one they want to loan me for a year or two so I can figure out if I like it better. |

Scott: Only a few more weeks! Can I help you put it on? Huh huh huh? Can I can I can I? |
