It's really nice to see that people care about the early 911's, and that they are featured so predominately. What I don't like is for them to be modified to suit the whim of the current owner. Gawd and Ferry Porsche never intended for a 1972 911T to have anything other than a 2.4L motor with carbs, if they wanted to put flares and a bigger motor in it, they would have done it. I believe a 1972 911T should be taken for what it is, limits and all. Since we mortals are tranisent creatures, we are merly caretakers of our Porsches. I for one am a realist and want to keep things Historically accurate and two am a preservationist in that by maintaining something in it's orginal state we have a view back in time. Both of which are important in that if we don't know where we come from how do we know where we are at or are going.

Trouble is, the 2.4 '72T came with MFI, not carbs. Your whole theory just went up in smoke due to ignorance. I hate to debate with you, Theadore, but recognized peroid correct mods are more than accepted in all car circles. That goes back to the kind of wicker luggage one chose to strap on to the running boards.

Oh well, I should not have allowed my curiosity to ge the best of me and look at another one of your posts, but if cancer was named theador, I could ignore it.

"period correct" sounds like a snobby concours guy word for hotrodding. Say what it is and enjoy it. How much does it cost to get into R Gruppe now?

How in the heck could I have missed all these cars in Monterey?

I was there for the races and didn't get out very much, but I must have been hanging out in all the wrong places. Your drive home was much better than mine...

Nice. Any more shots of the red R with the plexy quarter windows? Looks sweet!
