911s Decklid Info Needed.
I have a question.Were 911S decklids always Aluminum?
I have one, a decklid that is, that shows the outline where the "911S" emblem was. I've put a magnet to it,but it doesn't pass the test. I have 2 decklids and this one feels lighter than the 2nd one when holding them in each hand. Thanks for any insight. Gary

If you don't get a satisfactory answer here, go to the Early 911S Registry's forum and ask the question.

They were not always aluminum. I think 70/71 it was std. Optional until 73. There was usually an aluminum license plate panel that went with the aluminum decklid.
I may be wrong about the years.

We had a discussion about this on the early S board. My '73S has an aluminum decklid and had an AL license plate panel until I had it stupidly replaced (very minor rear ender).
