Big Move
I am retiring July 1 and will be moving to my place in Palm Desert. I will be driving my 83 SC with 190K + miles down this weekend from Davis, CA. I know it is a holiday weekend but would like to know if there is anything in particular I should do or watch out for? This is not the first long drive but it has been awhile. I do drive the car regularly and it is not a garage queen. Just passed smog so had oil, filter change. I have spare belt and tools. If I need help on the way is anyone available to call? Just a thought.
Looking forward to the drive. Thanks,

Bill,
Congratulations on your retirement! Palm Desert is beautiful. My wife and I lived in Fallbrook, CA (N. San Diego County) when I was in the military and we used to visit Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Indio, etc... What a great place to live!! Enjoy!

Pass thru SoCal as early in the morning as you can. Weekend traffic, holiday or not, can be stop and go all afternoon on many freeways. You can count on it for sure on the 405 at LAX. If you experience any trouble, find a computer and log on here. There's always someone who can help out. Even early in the morn.
Have a good safe trip. The weather looks great for the weekend. |
