mines or 25, bay area guys?

greeting to all bay area guys! the bathroom is getting to a point where i can allow myself to pull away from it for a day and was wondering when might be a good bay area run day? i have been asked to get another together by some pelicans and other friends recently.

i was thinking the weekend of the 22/23, or possibly this coming sunday the 16th? we have gotten better turn out by scheduling two weeks in advance in the past, but im open for either.

lets all post what day or weekend is better before we declare date or route. i know that we get a better turn out of east bay guys if we run mines so its up to the masses, i just want to get out.

if we do mines at this time of year its not bad going up the back of hamilton instead of del puerto, but again throw in your 2 cents and we will see what works.

toby

This sunday, May 16, is the big party in SF otherwise known as the Bay to Breaker. I'll attempt to run that one. So, next weekend May 23 gets my vote.

Cliff, love to borrow your CSI test kit, if you are not using it.

Toby,

If you guys end up going on the 16th, there's a good chance I can join.

Cliff- how many oil return tubes do you have on that car??! It seems like you're replacing 1 each week.

I'd be interested in a drive on the 16th. Perhaps this time I'll get my timing right and be able to meet everyone at the corner of Mines and Tesla.

man, the plot thickened! after multiple degreasings and investigations, i have determined that my main oil leak is at the case halves joint maybe this run will be my last, and then the motor comes apart. i wont even waste the money on oil return tubes. (another thread).

yelcab PM me, of course you can borrow the CIS gauge!

I don't want to negate Cliff's generous offer but I should add that I also have a CIS test kit that you can borrow and, living in San Mateo, I'm a bit closer to you. I also have a Gunsen Gastester if you would like to adjust your mixture.

I'll be in for either day if my "mystery idle" and random stalling problem gets solved. So far, it's not the DME relay, not the Dizzy cap or rotor, not the head temp sensor, not the ICV, and MIGHT be the O2 sensor or the Volume Air Flow Sensor. Wish me luck.

Brad, I might take you up on the Gunsen tester.

Count me in for either weekend. I've been itching to drive so bad that I took the P-car to work today. Happy to report that my old SC made it all the way to Eureka, CA today (265 miles from home) without a hitch. Tomorrow I make the return trip with the top off. Man, I wish I had a V1 instead of this Costco special. Too many curvy roads to go the speed limit.

looks like its near an even split as to weekend of choice.

i propose the following for you guys to digest-

go run mines on the 23, so all the guys that want to bay to break can join the run next weekend. it seems that easty's (bay side) are leaning toward the 23.

the 16th maybe hwy 25? seems that johan and brad are westy's (bay side), we could meet in sunnyvale around 10ish, run the hour down to hollister and go from there south.

just throwing spitballs here to see what sticks, comments?

chris& cliff, i know a 25 run would be a haul for you but if intrested in this sunday let me know.

Makes sense, Toby. If I'm all patched up by Sunday, I'm in. I won't make the 23rd, tho. I forgot that I'm flying to Chicago for my son's graduation from boot camp.

Rick, one of my friends drove around with a broken lead to the air flow sensor in his 964 and had the same symptoms as you. Amazing that the car would run at all. In his case, it was evident once he looked closer at the connector (which is a lot harder to get to on the 3.6).

Hello Zoanas

I too experinced the stalling prolem in the past and the cause came from DME box connector itself and possible cracked solder joins, I finally touch-up most solder joins + clean connectors and car fire right away. hope this help
