Need PPI advice in LA
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be joining the long hood ranks soon enough. After months of looking, I found this car right here in the Pelican classifieds. It appears to be an unmolested survivor.
Can anyone recommend a shop to perform the PPI? I am on the east coast and have never bought a car from this far away before. I usually like to run my own eyes over a car before buying, but may not be able to make it to LA for this one. Also, I believe the car has been in CA its entire life, so if anyone knows any details about its history I'd be interested in hearing any opinions. Thanks for the help. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That looks like a really nice early "S". I am sure there is a long line behind you waiting to buy it.

If the car is on the west side of LA, take it to Otto's in Venice. His long hood knowledge is huge. He'll scare the seller into giving you a better deal.

Beautiful car. But what's with the seller using Mop-n-Glo on the street all around it?
![]() If you tell us what part of the city it's in, we can steer you more accurately to the closest good shop.

Then it's only about five miles away from Pristine Motorsports. The woman at the desk there is named Gloria, and she's the wife of John Risvold, who drives a 3.2-powered early car and sometimes posts on this board.
In any case, I've heard good things about the shop. PRISTINE MOTORSPORTS 225 5TH. ST. HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 92648 Phone: (714) 960-2421 Phone2: (714) 536-7888 Fax: (714) 960-0926 Email: PristineHB@AOL.com
