What Causes This??
Talked with a seller today. He has a 1982 911 with 117K miles on it. He said sometimes, not all the time, after he drives the car and goes to restart it, the engine cranks over, but does start. He then has to wait 3 to 5 minutes and the car will restart. Anyone heard of this? He said someone told him it was a manifold leak? Doesn't sound right. Is this a hot start problem?Whats the fix..
Thanks. Ed

I second it. It's less than $200 and you only need a couple of good flare nut wrenches. Looks like an honest seller. Time to buy!!!

It can also be the check valve in the fuel pump. Even cheaper.

The problem is "vapor lock". The answer is listed above.
