Sunset Fun,

Thanks for the great photos and write up. Did you have to relocate the windshield washer bottle in the left fender as well?

Look forward to seeing the finished product.

ICE ICE BABY

The Man who single handedly made this style un-cool to many.

Word to yo' muthah

Vanilla Ice is here with the juice.....
Get loose as I boost the juice......
I've got another big hit
Of course a Vanilla rides the groove like a Gemballa
Porsche.......

1986 Porsche Gemballa Avalanche RUF Turbo, once owned by Vanilla Ice. [EDIT] It appears this was a Vanilla like g-car, but not the cab Vanilla owned.

I like the black and yellow paint scheme, I think he should keep it that way!

What are you making your vent fins out of?
Also, which "gasket" do you use between the airdam and fender? Standard 930 issue?

Doug, that's not Vanilla Ice's car. Vanilla used to have a cabriolet and Uwe Gemballa himself signed the rear decklid before delivering the car to him.

"We are building this gem as a show car."

Which "gem"? The early car with the 3.2 or the abomination?

I thought I would ask why this thread wasn't entitled "How to put $15k into a $20k car and make the car worth $15k when you are done"

Yeah, I'm a d1ck

Mmmh! I found this Vanilla g-car on the internet, so it must be true. How can this be?

Kewl! Why aren't the rest of you taking step-by-step pics and uploading for us? Oh yeah, cause if you're like me instead of a few days, this thread would be YEARS long!

Thanks for a) posting these and b) putting up with the highly opined pelicans (but nice pelicans...)

Gawd these drugs are GOOD!

I agree that this guy is just building what the customer has always dreamed of and he's doing a darn good job too. I have to say that I am amazed that the customer has kept this dream alive for so long without altering it to fit the decade we're in, or even the previous decade.

Then again, maybe it's been so long that this style is coming back. I better try and get ahead of the curve..... now, where did I put my Members Only jacket, my parachute pants and my Def Leppard style Union Jack shirt? I've gotta wear those when I get out my saw and my welding torch.

Stock Carrera values are going up as I type this.

That's about as cool as having Bill Ford sign your new F150...

Nothing like encouraging someone who is taking the time to show us some body work technique that is common to many projects.

You guys need to grow up.
