Amazing no one got hurt. Freakish. I wonder if the guy will go buy another Boxster. There are certainly pros and cons to that issue for him.

Front air bags usually deploy only from a direct frontal impact. Even then, there has to be enough deceleration G-force to initiate deployment. Engineers didn't foresee falling cars in their crash scenarios nor would the air bags have helped much if this was a regular convertible instead of a Boxster.
