Dont refinish them I will take them just like that!!

Mark, have you rolled your front fenders? I had to roll mine when I went to 7s up front with 205/55s. I've been thinking that the next time I changed tires I'd try going lower profile to cut down on sidewall flex: 205/50/16 on 7s up front and 225/45/16 on 8s in the rear.

Nostat,
I haven't yet - my 7's never rubbed. Still not sure if it will be necessary for these 8's. It may be like the 7's and be car dependent. Next week we'll test them on some other cars.

Mark's 8's rubbed about the same on his '79 with unrolled fenders than they did on my '79 with my fender's rolled flat. Neither rubbed in normal street driving. On either car they rubbed a tiny bit in hard cornering and then only on the typical driver's side.

Like Mark said it is really car and even more importantly tire dependant. The KDWs Mark has on are a pretty fat tire to be testing wheels with.

Did you guys find a narrow body car to test them on yet? Im dying to see if the 8s will fit in the back of a narrowbody.

Elombard 05-29-2004 01:34 PM

No stat, I saw a race car with 205 50 16s on 7s, it looked wierd beacause the sidewall was so small!!! It looked kinda looked cheech and chong?? The super low profile look on a 911 looks odd to me unless the wheels are big enough to fill the hole. ANd I like rubber band tires.

Mark Wilson 05-29-2004 03:55 PM

Nostat, my front 7's have 205/50's right now but I have run 225/55 before. 205's might be a good size to try and get away from the fender rub.

Sherman,
If my calculations are right, these should fit the rear of early and mid year cars but we haven't done a test fit yet. It may take a couple more weeks.

mark, you are killing me! that looks amazing!

Mark,

This is the post I e-mailed you about. According to Dave Lindsey, this wont fit! Have you moved your oil lines?

Will these fit on my SC?

smestas 11-18-2004 10:58 PM

Looks great Mark!

If you need another test mule send them my way and I'll give 'em a good thrashing. :)

Mark,

What are the offset and backspacing specs of the 8" wheel? Also, where could I get a set of these! Please post here or email me skaefer@yahoo.com

I'm interested in possibly getting a set of these for my '71.
Thanks,
-Kaefer
