sammyg2 05-28-2004 05:45 PM

speeder 05-28-2004 05:53 PM

Can you drive it yet? How's the foot? I feel for ya, you're my favorite redneck. :)

Mark Wilson 05-28-2004 05:59 PM

Hey Big D! No driving for 2 more weeks. Hope the doc replaces the cast with a boot then.

The wheels are made with donor Fuchs centers.

89turbocabmike 05-28-2004 06:25 PM

Those look awesome Mark! Who did the wheels for you?

rdane 05-28-2004 06:26 PM

Starting to make a Fuch look like a Fuch there Mark :)
Amazing how close the 9" IROC front wheels are to the 9.5" wheel on the rear of your car.

Do you have any detail shots?

Man look at those 245s they are stretchin- looks great!

Mark Wilson 05-28-2004 08:11 PM

This set is being used as test mules for fit so they haven't been refinished yet. The next set will be polished spokes with painted background.

This shows the 9.5 next to my stock 9. I'll refinish my next 8/9.5 set like these.

Hey, Are you sure your not drivng that SC a little bit ;)

Lookin good, Mark

Mark Wilson 05-28-2004 09:13 PM

Hey Bob, only wish I could. I'm Jones-en for some flat 6.

nostatic 05-28-2004 10:10 PM

looks like you need at least 265s. So did they make those out of 6s?

Az911 05-28-2004 10:24 PM

Why get a wider wheel and not get wider tires?

Ed Bighi 05-28-2004 10:49 PM

Because wider tires in that size, other than the 255/50 which has too high a profile, are mostly available in slicks.

Mark Wilson 05-29-2004 01:14 AM

Steve,
Good question. The 225/50 is wider than the stock 225/55 or 205/50. I may be able to fit a 225/45 which will put even more rubber down. Both the 225/50 and /45 fit the 8" wheel perfectly.

The 9.5 rear wheel accomodates some of the wider 245/45's (S03 and Pilots @ over 9" treadwidth) and should effectively stiffen the sidewall of the tires. Additionally, Kumho offers several tires in 265/45 size that put almost 10" of tread down. We chose these wheel sizes to maximize the space available under the SC/Carrera flairs.

Mikkel 05-29-2004 01:15 AM

Wow. Who made the wheels?

azasadny 05-29-2004 03:18 AM

Mark,
Beautiful!!! Congratulations!!

JonT 05-29-2004 03:22 AM

Those are going to look fantastic when you get them polished and the tire sizes sorted out.

Shuie 05-29-2004 03:36 AM

Very cool. I cant wait to see if the 8" wheel fits under the rear of a non-flared car :)
