convertible top help needed

1992 C2 cab top doesn't latch. I have checked both latch motors and they run fine.Micro switchs at windshield check out ok. The top goes up and down fine and the micros on the transmission for up and down both stop the top so they must be ok. I need to know if anyone knows how to check the control unit out and/or does anyone have any other ideas as to what I might look for that I might be missing.
Thanks,Earl

The PO of my Carrera had shelled out about $3000.00 due to a malfunctioning top. A 92 would be similar to mine. Tread lightly, heard those aluminum rails can bend easily. I’ve actually have read that some people convert to a manual top once they’ve took on this monster!

If either locking motor is out of sync or damaged (brass gear), the motors won't
run when the micro switches close (top reaches windshield). Each motor has a
micro switch which is used to determine its position. If the controller senses the
wrong positions, neither motor will run. Also, the controller is the next most
problematic cab top system element.
