Every time I see your car, I think going rockerless is the way to go. Any idea what she weighs now Eric?

Chris... I have not had the chance to run over to the scale after the last little session of tearing stuff out.
With out the rollcage, and next to no gas.. it was at 2200 lbs and some change.. and that is so far without anyfibreglass parts.. it's all steel so far. although there is literally nothing in the car. two seats... a few gauges a pedal and a shifter and oh yeah a wheel.
I will install the cage and fill her up and then weght her again.. and if she tops 2100 lbs. I will start to buy fibreglass.
Granted the scale may be a bit off.. which I understand but she is STILL LIGHT.. and when driving it you can tell.
It's a BLAST! yeah I love the rockerless look. plus it removed weight and I don't care if the oil lines can be seen...as I feel that is all the old rockers are there for is to cover the oil lines up.

mark my words this car will BE under 2000 lbs befoe I am done with her and she will either have a cranky wound tight motor... or a 3.8 ltr! and I am sure it will be the death of me! hahaha!

Thanks fella's.

A '74-'75 driver side mirror painted body color would weigh a ton less that those 2 anvils the car has on the doors right now. Or, if you can find them, the mirrors fitted to the SCRS.
And the passenger side wiper belongs in the front trunk, to better manage weight repartition.

While you're at it, take the caps off the wiper arms.

And take that crest off the hood, replacing it with a decal.

Take that license plate frame off too.

Gut that sunroof and put the fiberglass panel in there.

And take the balancing weights off the wheels. Just kidding!!! That's precious weight. I drove mine without weights once. SHAKY!!!!

Hey Rich..
Believe it or not they are about to go on this weekend....
I have managed to finally get some 7" front Fuchs so I know have the right set up I didn't want to mount them just to have to remove them at alater date.
I will post a few more pictures of the car once they are on..
I have them in my room covered up by a blanket.
I still owe you bigtime for that !!
that may have been the kindest act anyone has ever done for me and believe it or not I have given more stuff to people for free because of that act you had done for me..
I just a good feeling being nice to other P-car guys!.
But they are after a year going to get mounted on the car this weekend,.

I will giving them a try on the Auto Cross scene this June 4th/5th .

Later, Eric

I like that you drive like I do; going so fast in the corners that it blows your center caps off....
