Talking Header Fabrication Fun

Hey guys,
Spent my last of the memorial day weekend cutting a bunch of tubing .

Here are some pics of the runners tac welded for fitment testing into the merge collector. Now I just need to get the flanges machined, weld/polish the tubing up completely and get the bolt tabs on . The runners are equal length (26") to within a quarter inch after my initial measurements.

Using 321 stainless mandrel u-bends along with a 321 stainless dual slip merge collector. Will be connected to the rest of my little project via v-band clamps.

Wow, nice looking! Where do you buy the mandrel bent sections? And what weld process are you using? I'd love to be able to do stuff like that.

Noah - Yeah the stock system is supposedly hard to beat. I'm just doing this to get rid of the heat exchange boxes and hopefully have a slightly more efficient system.

Frostie - Sure thing.

Charlie - Got the tubing from Burnsstainless. The final welds will be purge welded with a Tig.

where did you get your tubing?

I've been looking for mild steel bends like that...
