It isn't the Alps but the gas is cheaper :)

I have to blame this one on George!

But isn't a 911 the coolest car in history? How many sports cars can you take to the track and flog it on Saturday and then turn around and drive it through snow and rain up some mountain pass with no concern past how much fun you are having?

Zero, past a Porsche...and this started in the '60s with the 356!
So while I have enjoyed getting up a mountain like this much of my life, a well done 911 can replace some of that thrill with a lot less effort

Nothing like George's drive at 2500 meters!

The Fin on Dragontail at Elev. 8840 ft.

the lowlands of the White River.

Chinook Pass, WA this afternoon. Elev. 5430 ft.

Not many things in the world as cool as driving a 911. Bunch of folks pretty blessed here on Pelican! Can I get an AMEN?

But the reality of Washington this time of year is green...as in really GREEN. This on the way home on a 2.5 hour r/t drive.

Amen. Didn't realize the roads were that clear already. I need to head east, out of town more. You passed through the (Enum)"Claw" on your way up there I assume? Nice photos.

Yep, I am 30 minutes from Enumclaw out the back roads. I like to hit the Green River rd. from 18 to Black Diamond for another extra corner or two on the way out. Sunrise Rd. isn't open yet but it won't be long now.

Awesome Saturday run coming up soon for the locals. Better join us!

This is great. Only time I drove there was in summer, and the scenery was breathtaking.
After all the work done, that car deserves to be driven. Hard.
Roll on the miles!

The 911 sure has some great lines. In this shot, it looks like it's doing a good 60 MPH, even standing still! Great shots, rdane!!!

rdane,

I gotta say that Lake Colchuck and Asgaard Pass are two of my favorite places in the world and I've been there a number of times since I was a kid. I've never been up Dragontail - rock climbing is a little too scary for me- but thanks to your picture, I now know how incredible that view is.

Not a bad shot of the car either.

Amen. I've been singing the praises of the PNW natural beauty for some time now.

Also, while you California guys arguably are able to get more traction out of your tires because they get warmer than here (our tires are usually coated with cold rain water), some of you guys may not be aware of the effect that damp, cool air has on engine performance. For example, over the holiday weekend temps here in the lowlands were in the fifties, less than that up higher, with 100% relative humidity. On a warm day (70 degrees) my engine is not as strong.

Ahh yes...Dragontail...nice climb. Nice shot of Colchuck below. I love the Enchantments.....and Asgaard is how I always approach em...I hate the long slog on the other end. Nice Pics! I want to do Liberty Bell this summer.....long on my list it needs to be bagged!

Picture on the Fin is Eric's and the only one I have seen that really gives the scale of the slab high on Dragontail called the Fin. Great web site if you are into such things.

Here is one of mine.....well actually I didn't take this one either but I am in it Tsunami 5.11d
