Pelicans on Mines Rd

Some pics from the drive today. I apologize for the quality but these are better than no history of the event. What do we have in common? We met each other first online through Pelican. That's the coolest thing about this board.

Robert's 928 and Emcon5's SC - good to meet you fellas

It was a great turn out. Let's do this again soon. See you all at Candlestick Park or is it GG Fields for the June 5 autocross? Oh yeah, don't forget the Porsche Club's car show in Danville on Sunday, May 30th.

I am SOOOO jealous!

What a gorgeous day! I was dodging tornados in Chicago all day! I can't wait to get back to the left coast.

Someone needs to do a DE. Miata's are only close in a parking lot autocross.

... or on public roads. There were other people than us on the roads today. Driving without a good safety margin on public road is stupid in my opinion.

I was bringing up the rear of the pack as my car kept stalling. Did something happen up front?

More pictures

To add to the pictures already posted, here are the best ones from my camera.

1. Through the twisties

2. Characteristic shot of my speedometer on the way to Junction Cafe

3. Top of Mt Hamilton

Brad, did you bumper cam thing work? It'd be fun to see some footage. It seemed like you guys were taking a ton of pictures on the first part of the drive. Any pics of my car?

I had a great time today!

/ J

Some road-bikers got pretty pissed. I slowed down for all bikers and passed in what I thought was a very safe manner. Stilll, one guy tried to spit at my car as I drove by.

Maybe he didn't like 911s, or maybe some people were driving by too fast and too close?

Ok, here are a few. The third one is my favorite.
I'll post more as soon as I have time to organize them into a gallery, like I have for past drives.

I'll also post some video from the bumper cam later. The white balance fluctuated quite a bit so I'll have to try some video color correction.

mines is south of livermore, and it heads south up the back side of hamilton which is on the east side of santa clara valley. you can get down the face of hamilton and it drops you into east san jose.
